Finally I lucked out. After two days of attempting to find posadas in my colonia, I ended up right in the home where one was beginning. Here's what happened. I had promised Rosa, my house helper who just gave birth to her third child, that I would come to take photographs of the family. And so I did and while there asked if she knew where the posadas where in the colonia. Well, it turned out that there are two areas where they happen: one is around the corner from where I live and the second is on her street and furthermore would be starting out that evening right from her house. The Universe does work in mysterious ways.
I came back and everything was wonderful. I got invited in to the host house down the street and was offered, ponche, a warm fruit tea, very tasty. And then, I got to see what I had been waiting for...the pinatas. Here are a few shots from the excitement. I plan to try again tonight with a wide angle lens, but I have yet to learn how to shoot in the dark.
