wandering in the night

I spent last weekend in Mexico City. We call it DF...stands for Federal District or capital. While there I was on a mission to buy a fast lens. As it turns out, the hotel was on Calle Donceles, the camera district. Within a short time, I located a 50mm f1.8 lens. Suddenly, I feel like I'm back where I started many years ago. This lens is about as simple as it gets. Still, I have a lot of practicing to do.
Below are some shots made with the new lens. Click to enlarge.

Final Blow. Mariachi playing the last strains for the night.

Red and Silver. Elegant window display

Night Reader. Reading by lamplight in the park.

Elote Stand. Corn cob coated with lime, chile and mayonnaise.

Nice images. I have a 50mm and a 24mm lens and those are on my camera most of the time because it lightens the load when you are walking all day with a camera on your shoulder.

I love the photo called Silver and Gold but the park reader comes in a close second!
